Position Changes:
You can request a player position change in this thread:
-You can change 1 player's position per team
-2 positions Max (ex: can't be PG/SG/SF)
-Player has to have, in the database, 3+ years at the changed position
-(I think that's it)

- Code:
Allen Iverson: Iverson would be allowed to change his position to PG SG, any of these years, but not to SG, he only had 1 season as a SG
Allen Iverson - 1996-97 - PG
Allen Iverson - 1997-98 - PG
Allen Iverson - 1998-99 - PG SG
Allen Iverson - 1999-00 - PG SG

Allen Iverson - 2009-10 - PG SG
Larry Bird does have a few years as a SG SF PF but the position changes can only take effect for up to 2 positions, not 3+. And you can't pick and choose positions (ex: SG SF would not work because he has no years as, specifically, a SG SF)
Larry Bird - 1991-92 - SF PF
Larry Bird - 1990-91 - SG SF PF
Larry Bird - 1989-90 - SG SF PF
Larry Bird - 1988-89 - SF PF

Larry Bird - 1982-83 - SF PF
Larry Bird - 1981-82 - SF PF
Larry Bird - 1980-81 - SG SF PF
Larry Bird - 1979-80 - SF PF
Millsap can be changed to SF PF, but not to PF C, since Millsap has multiple years as a SF PF and less than 3 years at PF C.
Paul Millsap - 2006-07 - PF
Paul Millsap - 2006-07 - PF

Re: Position Changes:
Wow, this is a big rule change. In my opinion, the strategy of shuffling players year to year based on their positional eligibility is part of the fun. Kind of takes some of the difficulty away if we start messing with actual positions.

Like, in the example, above, AI played PG every year except for 2001-2002. AI, playing only SG in 2001-2002 is not because Allen Iverson couldn't play PG, but rather because Eric Snow was the full time PG under Coach Brown. So, and this same reasoning applies to the minutes and GP increases that we have already discussed, why should I hold back GMs based off of real coaching decisions in the past?

Re: Position Changes:
I'd probably answer that on 3 levels.
1) More rules/options probably adds complexity to the league (a league which is already quite complex given the salary rules - even though you've done a fantastic job with the add-ons) and so may further deter GMs from signing on
2) It removes some of the challenge (and fun) created by positional nuances year to year
and
3) Probably makes it harder for GMs to maintain their own database or track what each player can potentially do in the future positionally (as it may deviate from the known reality)

If I see a bunch of owners using it this season, I'll keep it, if not, this will be the only season for the position changes.
